Group Leader: Matthew Leitch

Like a typical book group except that we read our own work. The work can be non-fiction, fiction, or poetry and for just about any purpose (publication, recreation, getting a job, teaching materials, influencing). Feedback from readers can be whatever the author asks for, but will generally focus on honest but kindly expressed reactions and reflections on issues raised.

Writers can only expect feedback on up to 2,000 words at a time. We can have more than one piece to discuss at each meeting if the pieces are short. The idea would probably be to maintain a pipeline of writing, not to require everyone to write on a rota. Text to read should be in an electronic form and free for group members to read.

Would suit people currently writing (e.g. aspiring book authors) and people who have written already and just want some intelligent conversation. Also open to people who don't want to write but do like reading and helping writers.

Meeting on the second Thursday of each month from 10 am to 12 pm, with a refreshment break.
