Walking - Navvi, Waterside

Epsom & Ewell u3a Walking – Navvi, Waterside group poster featuring members exploring Surrey and London canals, rivers and historic waterside paths on friendly social walks.

The Epsom & Ewell u3a Walking – Navvies, Watersides & Railways group meets bi-monthly on the fourth Sunday to explore the fascinating old railway lines, canals, rivers and waterside paths of Surrey and London. Each walk uncovers the history of the engineers, or "navvies", who built Britain's transport network, while taking in attractive countryside, urban waterways and disused railway routes. Walks are taken at a relaxed pace, combining gentle exercise with local history, industrial heritage and good company. It's an excellent way to discover hidden corners of Surrey and London while enjoying the outdoors with fellow walkers.
