How Our Interest Groups Work

Epsom & Ewell u3a interest groups are run by members, for members. There are no formal teachers or classrooms – everyone shares their knowledge, skills and enthusiasm in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. One of the founding ideas of u3a is that the learners teach and the teachers learn, because everyone has something valuable to contribute.

Whether your interest is history, languages, walking, music, science, art, crafts, technology, games or sport, every group is built on friendship, curiosity and shared learning. Members encourage one another, exchange ideas and discover new skills together. No one is expected to be an expert – there is always something new to learn and someone willing to help.

Each group is a shared endeavour, shaped by its members, with the simple aim of making retirement more active, more sociable and more enjoyable. By learning together, sharing experiences and making new friends, our interest groups demonstrate what Epsom & Ewell u3a is all about – lifelong learning, laughter and making the most of life.
